After Napoli’s 2-4 loss against Roma earlier this month, they gave up first position to Juventus who stunned a stubborn Lazio in the dying minutes of their fixture and had a game in hand, which they won.
Napoli then drew 0-0 against Inter Milan in their next game, and Juve beat Atalanta 2-0 to stay on top with a 5-points gap. Considering how defensive and lethal Juve can be, this was a huge gap for Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli but a stubborn Spal fighting relegation held Juventus to a 0-0 draw on Saturday and after Napoli beat Genoa 1-0 on Sunday, the gap was reduced to two points. This has just blown the title race open once again.
Race for a European spot
Italy has 4 spots in the CL and one in the UEL, with the 6th team having to play in the UEL qualification.
As it stands, Roma and Inter are in the CL spots, with Lazio 5th, and in the UEL spot. AC Milan is 6th and four points off Lazio.
There are still 9 matches to be played.
