Manchester United’s De Gea wins 1st EPL Golden Glove award after 18th clean sheet. The award was confirmed on Thursday evening game against West Ham united that saw the both team play goalless draw.
During an interview after the match (WHU Vs Man Utd), De Gea appreciated the award and the team in a statement which he said
“It is my first Golden Glove award. I am really happy for that. It means we defended well in this league, I am happy for me and happy for the team. It is for everyone, it is a team award, not just for the goalkeeper.“
This latest accolade will be another feather in De Gea’s cap, who won the Players’ Player of the Year prize and, for a record-breaking fourth time, was named the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year at the club’s annual awards ceremony earlier this month.
The Spaniard made his debut for United in the summer of 2011 and has gone on to make over 300 appearances for the Reds.
