Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana sustained a suspected muscular injury as his side beat Crystal Palace 2-1.
The 29-year-old was forced off just a few minutes after coming on as a substitute midway through the second half of the Reds’ dramatic, come-from-behind win at Selhurst Park.
“I haven’t spoken with him but I saw him. It’s absolutely bad. We don’t know exactly what he has, but in the first moment and then I saw him going down it looked really serious, to be honest,” said Klopp when asked about the midfielder’s condition during post-match conference.
“It looks like something with the muscle, we couldn’t make any further assessment so far, of course, but we will do that as quick as possible,” he added.
The England international has struggled with injury all season, starting just three games but was looking to play his way back to top form and contribute to Liverpool’s end to the campaign and England’s World Cup mission.
