Alexis Sanchez has disclosed that he left Arsenal while in good terms with boss Arsene Wenger.
Speaking at a recent interview with Chilevision TV, the marksman said, “He (Wenger) was very fond of me and he didn’t want to let me go. He told me: “I want you to sign here because you are the best player in the team.”
The Chilean continued, “I wanted to continue growing as a player, more so as a Chilean, because it’s difficult to get to Man United. No Chilean had played here. Arsene understood it at last, we ended up on good terms, he congratulated me and there was no problem.”
Sanchez has struggled to find his footing at Manchester United since making his highly publicised switch to the English giants in January. The 29-year-old, however, remains confident that he will make his mark at Old Trafford in the coming days.
