Arsene Wenger admittedly wants the team to win back the support of stay-away Gunners fans.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the return leg of their Europa League clash against Milan, the Frenchman said, “For 22 years I have played in front of a sold-out stadium and I am grateful for that support. But if there are one or two games where the stadium is not completely full, we have to look at ourselves and get the fans behind us again.”
The tactician continued, “This club is massive and the support is huge, so it is just down to our performances. Of course I want them to come back.”
Arsenal head into the match with a commanding 2-0 lead over Milan. Wenger can only hope that his team replicates or preferably surpasses the performance they put up in the first leg since a win not only means progressing to the next round, but also slow but gradually regaining the affection of their passionate home support.
