Arsene Wenger is admittedly thrilled with midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s killer form.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of their Europa League clash against Milan, Le Professeur said, “Yes he (Mkhitaryan) integrated very quickly. I think it’s the way we want to play that suits him naturally. He has been well accepted and made a good adaptation.
Wenger continued, “Players of his calibre, it helps he has been abroad before so he knows how to behave. I am never surprised when players do well. It’s what I expect of them.”
Mkhitaryan has indeed overcome the poor fortunes he had with perennial rivals and arisen to become the player that had once established him as one of the best playmakers in football today. The midfield maestro has scored two goals and assisted another nine for the Gunners this season, becoming arguably the most important player in Arsene Wenger’s squad alongside Mesut Ozil.
