Emre Can has hit out at speculation surrounding his future after being forced to return to Liverpool from international duty with a back injury.
The 24-year-old trained with Germany’s national team last week but he did not feature in their 1-1 draw with Spain on Friday evening. Can is out of contract at the end of this season and it’s thought he wants a £200,000-a-week deal in order to stay at Anfield.
With Liverpool reluctant to offer him such a high wage packet, Manchester City, Juventus and Bayern Munich have been reported to be monitoring his situation. But Can responded angrily to talk about his future and slated the ‘false’ stories linking him with a move away.
“I’ve just returned from international duty with the German team and working on coming back from injury. ‘Interesting stories about me in the press! ‘I’m no longer going to comment on any false stories or rumors! ‘Looking forward to getting back on the pitch asap,” said Can.
The German ace has scored four goals provided four assists this season.
