Former England captain David Beckham believes England will meet Argentine in the World Cup final in Russia.
Captain Harry Kane struck in the stoppage time to help England beat Tunisia 2-1 in their opening match in Group G, while Argentina were held to a 1-1 draw by Iceland after Lionel Messi missed a penalty.
Beckham, who holds two memorable World Cup moments against Argentina is tipping the two sides to sweep through their opponents in Russia and secure a spot in next month’s final in Moscow.
“I believe Argentina will play against England in the final,” Beckham said at an event in China.
“I think obviously my choice would be England to win the competition, but that’s me being biased and passionate about my country,” he added.
Southgate’s side face their second World Cup group match against Panama on Sunday, while Argentina will look to secure their first win at the tournament against Croatia on Thursday.
