German international, IIkay Gundogan will reportedly sign a new deal with Manchester City after the World Cup.
Gundogan, who joined City in 2016 from Borussia Dortmund has struggled with injuries in England but returned last season to help City win the title with a record 100 points.
According to The Sun, Guardiola is keen on tying down Gundogan down to fresh terms at the club despite having two years left on his current deal.
The midfielder, who is on £100,000 per week has been the subject of interest from Barcelona who view him as a possible replacement for legend Andres Iniesta, who ended his 22-year association with the club to join Vissel Kobe in Japan.
The 27-year-old who is at the World Cup finals in Russia has scored four goals in 26 appearances for Joachim Low’s national team.
