Nobody should fear Man City – Michael Owen

Michael Owen insists Liverpool should not fear Manchester City.

A goalless draw at home to Porto saw the Reds cruise through to the last-eight, following their 5-0 demolition of the Portuguese outfit in the first leg. Real Madrid joined Liverpool in the hat with an impressive victory over Paris Saint-Germain, while Manchester City and Tottenham can follow suit in their home ties on Wednesday evening.

Manchester United face Sevilla next Tuesday before Chelsea travel to the Nou Camp to try to knock Barcelona out the following day.

“It’s very hard because we don’t know who’s in there just yet. ‘They should fear Real [Madrid], Barca and Bayern [Munich], the normal suspects. ‘You wouldn’t fancy Man City but then again Liverpool beat them a few weeks ago. They wouldn’t be quaking in their boots [if they drew City], put it that way,” Owen said.

Liverpool can move back up to second in the Premier League if they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
