“The dominant emotion everywhere is fear. This applies to every part of human activity: finances, industry, farmers, workers, thinkers and government officials”.(Herbert Hoover)
Fears are learned. No one is born with fear. Fears can be unlearned by practicing self-discipline repeatedly with regard to fear until it goes away.
Fear is no joke. Sometimes what we fear hunts us (job 3:25); fear some sickness and you will increase the prospect of a deadly malady vexing your life.
We experience different sorts of fear:
- Fear of failure
- Fear of poverty
- Fear of ridicule
- Fear of rejection
- Fear of losing loved one(s)
- Fear of loss of respect
- Fear of losing marriage
- Fear of natural things
- Fear of risk takingThese and many more face people daily and it often prevent them from taking risk of any kind and to reject opportunity when it’s being presented to them.
Avoiding your fears only makes them scarier. Identify with the situation or person that makes you afraid and face it head-on. When you confront your fears it becomes smaller and your confidence grows- be as bold as a lion; if you back away from your fears, it grows larger soon it dominates your feeling, thinking, preoccupies your day and might even keep you awake at night.
STEPS TO TAKE
- Identify your fears or situation

The results of fear are not pleasant, fear is deceptive, it causes you to expect the bad. Give no place to fear, put it behind you. Reach the point where you are not afraid of anything, in doing this, it becomes an important process of overcoming your fears.
“All men have their Fears but those who face their fears with Faith have Courage as well”. Thomas S. Morison.
In other to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.
Fear is nothing more than an obstacle that stands in the way of progress. In overcoming our fears, we can move forward, stronger and wiser within ourselves.
