Tiwa Savage the Nigerian music pop star in a midday show with the Beat FM’s Tolu Oniru who engaged her in a discussion during the event made it known that women in all society has to work very hard in order to achieve great things.
Tiwa Savage the Malvin record diva who made it know that women needs to work hard on their dreams also went further to discuss the likes of powerful women like Oprah Winfrey and Mo Abudu who represent a category of women who went through extreme measures to actualize their goals.
“It’s real. I’m not going to say I’m completely comfortable with it but it is what it is. You have to deal with it. If it means you have to work 10 times harder than your male counterparts, don’t complain about it, do what you have to do.
“We all celebrate people like Oprah and Mo Abudu and we don’t actually realize what they have to do to get to that point. They probably had to do 20 times than their male counterparts.
“Once you get there, you don’t complain about how you get there. So, whatever it is you have to do as a female, you just have to get it done,” she said.
On the issue of Men and women not been equal
Tiwa Savage also during the program made it known that yes she still believes in what the bible teaches as men been the head of the family and not only that , she also believes in the African teaching and believes that men are the head of the family and should be rightly respected for that and given their rightful places in the home. Despite that she still believes that women should be strong in pursuing their dreams and aim higher . they should see themselves not only as house or kitchen material but rather an authority in their professions.
“I know I’ll ruffle a few feathers but I also don’t think men and women are equal, I don’t think that’s how God created us that way… especially in the household anyway.
“So I think as females when we realize that yeah we can be strong in our career, but when we are home we have to realize that the man is the head of the house,” the music star ended her comments.
